Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about table reservations at the Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest-Booking.com is the official booking portal of many festival hosts for table reservations at the Oktoberfest. In addition, many festival hosts organize the official sale and purchase of existing table reservations via Oktoberfest-Booking.com
You will see the original reservation offers for a large number of the marquees. This means that we show you on which days you can still reserve free tables. In addition, we show you reservation offers from third parties (e.g. private individuals) who are unable to take your reservation and are therefore offering it for sale.
In principle, table reservations at the Oktoberfest are personalized and not transferable to third parties. Unfortunately, however, there is a gray market on which table reservations are offered at extremely high prices. Buyers of such reservations risk losing the right to the actual reservation, as it is not transferred to them. The purchase of such table reservations can therefore only be strongly discouraged.
In 2023, the city of Munich decided for the first time that every operator of a marquee must offer an online option for the sale and purchase of table reservations. The important thing here is that only real reservations may be offered for sale without a price surcharge. I.e. every reservation offered on Oktoberfest-Booking.com has been checked by the respective marquee and its validity has been confirmed. Within the purchase of such a reservation, the buyer is registered as the new owner of the reservation, which also gives him the actual claim to the reservation.
A table reservation at the Oktoberfest is basically free of charge. However, the vast majority of marquees have a minimum consumption that must be accepted by the respective reserving party. In many cases, this is two measures of beer (about 14 euros / measure) and a chicken (about 15 euros) per person. With an average table size of 8-10 people, the minimum purchase will cost approximately 430 euros.
Oktoberfest-Booking.com is in close cooperation with most of the festival tents. However, reservations are always made via the reservation system of the respective marquee. Oktoberfest-Booking.com therefore unfortunately has no influence on the actual reservation or any interim changes in availability.
In principle, there is of course no obligation to reserve a table. The festival tents are freely accessible at most times and have spacious areas that may not be reserved at all. This means that at many times there is nothing to prevent a spontaneous visit to the Oktoberfest. Nevertheless, there are times (especially in the evening and on weekends) when the tents are very full and therefore closed. At these times, admission to the tent is only granted with a valid table reservation. So if you are planning to visit the Oktoberfest at such a time, it is strongly recommended to make a reservation.
A table reservation at the Oktoberfest is basically free of charge. However, some tents offer your guests the possibility to book more elaborate menus in addition to the minimum consumption. These menus must often be pre-ordered due to capacity planning and have higher costs. If a guest has pre-ordered such a menu and now offers this reservation for purchase, the costs can differ considerably from the minimum consumption. However, it is crucial that this higher price also corresponds to the purchase price of the initial reservation and is not subject to any price surcharge.

It can happen that the seller does not send the documents in time, the documents get stuck in customs or are lost. In this case, the purchase will be canceled and you will receive your money back from us. We therefore recommend that sellers send the parcels to us in good time and with appropriate insurance and tracking.
If you have reserved several tables, it is possible to resell the reservation of individual tables in most tents. In this case, however, we must pass on the name or company name of the reservation.
It is not possible to sell individual seats! You can only resell reservations for entire tables with us.
You will receive the money from us as soon as we have received the documents and have checked them for completeness.
No. As described in more detail in our General Terms and Conditions, the contract is binding after the purchase of a reservation.
Any reservation offered can be deleted via the user profile before it is sold. After a successful sale of a reservation, we have to charge a cancellation fee of 50 EUR for the costs incurred. Further details can be found in our terms and conditions.
The seller sends the documents to our office. As soon as we have received them, we will inform you by e-mail. You can then collect the documents from our office during our opening hours (Mon-Fri 10:00-12:00). In some cases, the documents are located directly in the marquee. In this case, you can collect them from the reservation office of the respective marquee.
You will see the original reservation offers for a large number of the marquees. This means that we show you on which days you can still reserve free tables. In addition, we show you reservation offers from third parties (e.g. private individuals) who are unable to take your reservation and are therefore offering it for sale.
Selling a reservation via Oktoberfest-Booking is generally free of charge. However, shipping costs may apply for sending the documents. Alternatively, we offer the option to drop off the documents at our office in Munich.
Reservations at Oktoberfest are in high demand. Please make sure to arrive at your reserved tent on time, as unoccupied seats may be reassigned to other waiting guests after a short grace period.
