The Volkssängerzelt Schützenlisl at Oktoberfest
The Volkssängerzelt Schützenlisl® at the Oide Wiesn celebrated its premiere in 2022 and carries on a tradition dating back to 1881. Named after the legendary waitress Coletta Möritz — the real "Schützenlisl" — the tent is entirely dedicated to Bavarian tavern folk music.
Festival host Lorenz Stiftl and program director Traudi Siferlinger (BR "Wirtshausmusikanten") focus on Gstanzl, couplets, and brass music in Bavarian dialect. The tent has been honored multiple times as an "Excellent Bavarian Festival Tent" and operates as a climate-neutral venue — 90% of its products carry the Bavarian organic certification.

Drinks
The Volkssängerzelt Schützenlisl® is one of the few festival tents that serves Augustiner beer from wooden barrels in original stone mugs (6.2% alcohol, 13.7% original gravity) — a distinctive feature at the Wiesn. Additionally, wheat beer from Hacker-Pschorr and non-alcoholic drinks are available.
Live Music & Atmosphere
The tent is entirely devoted to authentic Bavarian folk music: couplets, Gstanzl, tavern songs, and brass music in Bavarian dialect. Traudi Siferlinger (BR "Wirtshausmusikanten") curates the program and performs on stage herself daily. The Josef Menzl band accompanies the program as the resident ensemble. Folk singers from 10:00 AM daily, full program from 2:00 PM until 9:30 PM.
