Hühnerbraterei Poschner at Oktoberfest

Hühnerbraterei Poschner has been one of the most traditional venues at Munich's Oktoberfest since 1926. The small, lovingly designed tent between the Hacker and Schottenhamel tents impresses even from the outside: a stunning facade featuring historic Munich personalities and electronically animated figures on the roof make Poschner a true eye-catcher on the Wiesn.

For nearly 100 years, the Luff family — now in its fifth generation — has grilled the famous Poschner chicken and duck according to an orally passed-down family recipe: crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. In good weather, the unique retractable roof opens up, creating a particularly relaxed atmosphere. During the day, Poschner is the ideal family tent; in the evenings, it transforms into a lively party tent with live music from the band "Out of Minga." The exclusive Hacker-Pschorr Wiesnmärzen is served fresh from wooden barrels.

Food & Drink

The house specialty speaks for itself: crispy grilled Poschner chicken and duck — crunchy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, prepared according to an orally passed-down family recipe since great-grandfather's time. Alongside the classic half chicken, the menu also features turkey breast strips, chicken gizzards in herb cream, and other Bavarian delicacies. As a true highlight, the original amber-colored Hacker-Pschorr Wiesnmärzen is served exclusively here, fresh from the wooden barrel — a treat found nowhere else on the Wiesn.

Music & Atmosphere

During the day, Hühnerbraterei Poschner invites guests to a relaxed family outing — with high chairs, a changing table, and a children's menu to color in. From the evening onwards, the live band Out of Minga brings the atmosphere to life with traditional Bavarian music and rousing Wiesn hits. And when the weather cooperates, the unique retractable roof opens up — for an unforgettable view of the Munich autumn sky.
